Dr Jessica Bartlett

PhD, MPsychClin, BPsychSc(Hons I)

Dr Jessica Bartlett is an avid researcher and passionate evidence-based practitioner. She completed her PhD at the University of Queensland, during which she received the Australian Postgraduate Award. Dr Bartlett has conducted two randomised controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating the efficacy of lifestyle interventions for childhood obesity. 

Dr Bartlett is co-author of the Lifestyle Triple P Seminar Series, which is a brief, universal parent-focused lifestyle intervention for the prevention of childhood obesity. She developed and evaluated this intervention with 160 participants using an RCT design. Triple P is considered one of the most effective parenting programs in the world, with over 35 years of ongoing research and delivery in more than 25 countries. Dr Bartlett is a Triple P Training Consultant and Head of Lifestyle Triple P Research at the Parenting and Family Support Centre (PFSC) at The University of Queensland, consulting with researchers and clinicians worldwide in the dissemination and evaluation of Lifestyle Triple P.

In a second RCT, Dr Bartlett evaluated a community-based treatment intervention for parents of overweight children within a multi-disciplinary team at the Mater Children's Hospital Brisbane (KOALA Mater Healthy Lifestyle Program). 

Dr Bartlett strongly believes in empowering researchers with the tools and skills required to make a lasting impact with their research.
